    Jim Thompson House

    Voormalig huis van de Amerikaanse zakenman James H.W. Thompson die na de Tweede Wereldoorlog naar Bangkok verhuisde en de Thaise zijde-industrie startte.
    Vandaag de dag is zijn huis een museum van klassieke Thaise gebouwen dat zijn geweldige collectie Aziatische kunst uit de jaren 50 en 60 bevat.
    Elke dag geopend, met een rondleiding. Het Jim Thompson House is te bereiken met de skytrain bij het National Stadium Station (uitgang 1).

    Interesting

    Had a couple of hours free and decided to visit (based on this site suggestion). Easy to find from the National Stadium BTS - just down a side street immediately before the Holiday Inn Hotel. Entry fee of 150 baht includes a 30 minute guided tour of the house in English (tours in other languages were also available). More interesting that I thought it would be. Nothing to do with silk making, more about the man himself and the history of the house and its contents. There is a shop where you can buy JT products and a good café / restaurant.
